Is normal for a bunny to stop playing and flopping even when you put them where they can run, through boxes, has toys to play with, and you hold her and love her? Or could it be she is not getting enough attention?

Will shedding and eating bits of paper hurt them?

Is it normal for them to lay and sleep in there bathroom area? I put her a little soft blanket and a box with a hole for her to go in and hide and sleep. She seems like she is hot she will sprawl down in her bathroom and she just breathes heavy.

Please help me not worry so bad.

Thanks, Baby and Grandma

Some bunnies are more active than others. Some will run and play, some just like stretching out during run time. They do need at least a few hours a day out of their enclosure. Some just like to lie next to you and for you to pet them. I would just make sure she seems like she is feeling well, eating habits haven't hanged, poops are normal and is drinking water.

Some rabbits will sleep in their litter box. Is she kept inside? Rabbits shouldn't be breathing heavily. They should be kept inside in a constant temperature under 80 degrees. Rabbits don't do well in heat, it can be very dangerous.

Rabbits love boxes to rest in. It is a good idea to have 2 separate holes cut in it. They like to have 2 exits. Some won't go in a box with just one hole. Try adding another and see if she starts using it.

Plain paper (no ink, not glossy) is ok in small amounts. Shredding is just fine but they shouldn't eat too much.

I hope this helps you a bit!

you could go to home depot and buy just ONE tile. like something from a bathroom tub wall or something. and then you put it in the freezer and when baby seems to be breathing heavy, if you are concerned, then take the tile out and put it in babys pen. then she can lie on it all night long and it will be cold for awhile!

also, its okay if bunnies shred up plain newspaper, like for instance the arizona republic or the new york times. the ink they use is soy based nowadays anyway (thank you al gore for your global crisis blahhhh) so they can shred it all they want and eat some of it too. nemo used to eat it in serious amounts, he would eat a whole section of the paper in a day!!

some bunnies don't binky or play as much when humans are watching. nemo USED to be that way where he would never binky in front of me, until fairly recently. now he binkies everywhere...in dogs face, when my friend jake plays with him and a stick (you can imagine how that goes, but nemo seems to LOVE it and no animals or jakes are ever harmed of course haha ) Laughing and he just needed time to open up.

i am sure baby knows she is quite loved!!!
