Today would have been Opus's 12th birthday. He past away 2 years ago. Opus was the bunny who started it all. He introduced me to the wonderful world of bunnies. He was a little 3 pound black and white holland lop. He was a bundle of energy and attitude. Still to this day I have never seen a bunny with more facial expressions. You new instantly what he was thinking just by looking at him. He loved to do things he knew he wasn't supposed to with a little devilish look on his face.
I still laugh when I think of the day I came home to find my little black and white bunny all black with little black paw prints on my white carpet. Appartently he found his way into the fireplace and had himself a ball. Or the day I came home to find him sitting in one of my large plants (bunny safe) with half the dirt on the floor sitting as still as could be. You could just see him thinking "if I don't move she won't know it was me".
He was taken away from his mom much too young and had health problems his whole life but he was a fighter. Too many times I had to rush him to the vet with the vet thinking he might not make it much longer. But he always pulled through and was back to his normal self in no time. Two months before his 10th birthday he passed away quietly. He will always have a piece of my heart and will always be in my thoughts.
Happy Birthday Opus! We love you!
