We are sad to say that Delta crossed over to the Rainbow Bridge. Delta was a large orange Flemish Giant. Brambley Hedge Rabbit Rescue rescued a group of Flemish Giants from a bad breeding situation. One of the Flemish Giants, Delta, passed on Saturday. She had been very sick for some time. She had lots of digestive troubles, and as a result was very thin and small compared to the other Flemish Giants that were rescued with her. Flemish Giants are one of the largest domestic rabbit breeds, growing to 12-15 lbs. or even more. The Flemish Giants at the shelter are only about 10 mos. old, and they weigh at least 10 lbs.

On Saturday Delta was brought out to bask in the sunlight and nibble on the wild greens in the yard. She seemed to be getting weaker, but appeared to enjoy being outside. She starting to hold her head in an odd way as if she was trying to get comfortable or like something was bothering her. Five minutes later she passed over the Rainbow Bridge.

We are very sad that Delta wasn't able to find her forever home before she passed but at least she was able to finally experience unconditional love at the shelter.

Goodbye Delta, we will miss you.

My heart is so sad today knowing that Delta has made her journey to the Bridge. How I wish she could have known a loving home before it was her time, but like you said at least she was loved and enjoyed some warm sunshine and a little nibble before she went to sleep.

I know that she is in the best company at The Bridge with all the other beautiful souls that have journeyed before her. I know my beloved Baby (and Halen and Opus) greeted her with binkies and bliss rolls...and lots of bunny kisses. She is happy, well and free to be a bunny at The Bridge.

Godspeed Delta!!! We all love you and will cherish your memory forever.

Love,
Belle, Zeus, Bunny, Magnolia, Scout, Chirps and our mom and dad

I am sorry your forever family was not able to find you before you crossed over. They will be waiting for at the Bridge.

I know you will be missed.
